The Ministry of Justice is decentralising its various services, including attestation of documents and real estate registration, and has plans to open centres in different parts of the country to offer services.
The aim is to reach out to people and businesses in the areas they are based and operate from, and ease congestion at its main office.
To begin with, the ministry has opened a branch office in the Industrial Area that will do document attestations.
The branch is housed at the service centre of the Ministry of Interior in the area.
The Ministry of Justice said it is inspired by the success of the Interior Ministry in its service decentralisation plans.
“We will also have service centres in different parts of the country in collaboration with the Interior Ministry,” said the Ministry of Justice.
All types of documents that need attestation by the Ministry of Justice can now be attested at the Industrial Area branch office.
The branch offices or service centres of the justice ministry to be opened in future will also provide real estate registration services.
Currently, real estate registration is centralised and there are no branches.
The Industrial Area branch of the Justice Ministry is, however, not offering real estate registration service now.
The main document attestation office of the justice ministry is open only on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays between 5pm and 8pm.
Its newly-opened Industrial Area branch will, however, work in two shifts on all weekdays.
