Thousands of Tunisian workers strike for better salaries

An estimated 650,000 Tunisians walked out on their jobs on Thursday staging the largest nationwide strike over wages in decades.

Public sector workers have been demanding pay hikes and an end to the tough economic conditions that have persisted since the overthrow of Tunisia’s long-time ruler in 2011.
