
(CNN)Twelve years ago, Siya Kolisi sat in a township tavern and dreamed.
Kolisi, who grew up in the township of Zwide, just outside Port Elizabeth, was just 16 when South Africa won the 2007 Rugby World Cup final.
“When I was a kid, there’s no way I would’ve dreamed of being Springbok captain,” South Africa’s first ever black skipper told CNN Sport before the tournament kicked off.
