US asylum seekers waiting on ‘the list’ in Mexico

As thousands of would-be United States asylum seekers wait across the border in Mexico, an unusual system has sprung up for appointments with US authorities.

It is called “the list” and it has become a central part of life for migrants in the Mexican border town of Tijuana.

Al Jazeera’s John Holman reports.
