UN: Civilian deaths in Afghanistan hit record high in 2018

Talks between the United States and the Taliban continue in Doha as civilians in Afghanistan are dying in record numbers.

A United Nations report recorded about 3,800 civilian deaths in 2018, including nearly 1,000 children.

That is the highest number of civilians killed in a single year in Afghanistan since records began.

Al Jazeera’s Charlotte Bellis reports from Kabul.
