NASA marks Apollo 8’s first flight to moon 50 years later

Fifty years ago, during the Christmas week, three American astronauts flew around the moon.

The mission is considered to be NASA‘s boldest and perhaps most dangerous ever.

That first voyage set the stage for the Apollo 11 moon landing seven months later.
