France sees pockets of violence in ‘yellow vest’ protests

The latest “yellow vest” anti-government protests have been generally peaceful, with about 40,000 turning out across France.

That is much lower than the hundreds of thousands who took part when the demonstrations peaked during the past six weeks.

But as Al Jazeera’s Bernard Smith reports from Paris – there have been pockets of violence.
