Bolivia’s president to run for fourth term, opponents outraged

Bolivia‘s President Evo Morales is to stand for a fourth term in office, a move the opposition says is unconstitutional.

Morales held a referedum in 2016 to change the Constitution, allowing him to run for a fourth term. However, he lost that referendum and had the decision nullified, deciding to run for office regardless.

There have been protests across Bolivia, with the most intense in the eastern city of Santa Cruz, which saw the burning of an electoral commission office.

Al Jazeera’s Daniel Schweimler reports.
