US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says it will be several weeks before any possible sanctions are imposed on Saudi Arabia over the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
He was murdered at the kingdom’s consulate in Istanbul a month ago.
The Washington Post reported that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman told senior Trump administration officials that Khashoggi was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood and was dangerous, although later, in public, the crown prince described the killing as a “terrible mistake”.
