The deadly cost of DR Congo’s pollution

Dozens of people in the Democratic Republic of the Congo die every year from flooding caused by rivers and sewage systems becoming blocked by plastic rubbish.

The government has now banned the manufacturing and sale of plastic bags and bottles but many people in the capital Kinshasa say a lot more needs to be done.
