Syria’s Idlib faces humanitarian disaster as offensive looms

The future of Syria is being debated between Iran, Russia and Turkey as their leaders meet in Tehran on Friday.

Prominent on the agenda is the fate of Idlib – the last remaining rebel-held province in Syria – where a major government offensive is expected.

Turkey, fearing a mass exodus of civilians towards its border, is trying to ensure the offensive will be as limited as possible.
