{"id":42711,"date":"2020-05-23T15:23:51","date_gmt":"2020-05-23T15:23:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/qatar-news.org\/qatarnewsEn\/?p=42711"},"modified":"2020-05-23T15:23:51","modified_gmt":"2020-05-23T15:23:51","slug":"egyptian-forces-kill-21-militants-in-north-sinai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/qatar-news.org\/qatarnewsEn\/?p=42711","title":{"rendered":"Egyptian forces kill 21 militants in North Sinai"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"44\">\n<p>\nDUBAI: Jordan\u2019s request for emergency financial assistance amounting to about $396 million has been approved by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Jordan Times has reported.<br \/>The fund is under the organization\u2019s Rapid Financial Instrument created to help member countries facing an urgent financial need.<br \/>The IMF said the grant will cover about a quarter of Jordan\u2019s external financing needs, while the rest will be provided by the country\u2019s development partners and other initiatives.<br \/>The report said the fund will help Jordan finance essential health requirements and social protection in the country, which has been expected to suffer from losses because of the pandemic.<br \/>\u201cThe COVID-19 pandemic has had a severe impact on the Jordanian people\u2019s lives and on the economy. Tourism disruption and sharp declines in remittances, exports and capital inflows have resulted in an urgent balance of payments need,\u201d Mitsuhiro Furusawa, deputy managing director of IMF, said in a statement carrying the approval of the assistance.<br \/>He said authorities were committed to be transparent in spending the money.<br \/>\u201cAll government spending is subject to audit by the Jordanian Audit Bureau.
