As part of its support for the Ministry of Interior\u2019s national road safety campaign \u201cOne Second\u201d, Qatargas has launched a special TV commercial (TVC) aimed at promoting safe driving behaviour.
\nThe one-minute TV commercial titled \u201cDon\u2019t kill their dreams\u201d is being aired on the local Arabic channel, Rayyan TV, until the end of Ramadan. The commercial will also be screened at cinemas in Doha during the Eid holidays. Besides, it can be viewed online on the official Qatargas website (www.qatargas.com.qa) and YouTube (Qatargas – TVC Road Safety 2013).
\nThe TV commercial, produced as part of the Traffic Department\u2019s annual Ramadan road safety campaign – which Qatargas is supporting for the seventh consecutive year – focuses on the issue of children becoming innocent victims of the unsafe driving habits of adults. It also portrays how a traffic accident can kill their dreams and aspirations. Children are affected not only when they are physically involved in traffic incidents, but their lives are also adversely impacted when parents become victims of such incidents. The central message of the TVC is that everyone needs to take responsibility for the safety of children so that they can live to realise their dreams.
\nPromoting road safety is a key element of the corporate social responsibility programme of Qatargas. Several activities have been planned as part of this year\u2019s Ramadan road safety campaign, including events targeted specifically at children.
\nOn the occasion of the Garangao celebration that is held in the middle of Ramadan, a Garangao festival will be held for families and children, during which safe driving messages will be highlighted through various performances, games and quizzes. Goodies and gifts will also be distributed to children. Also, during the final week of the campaign, infant car seats will be distributed to parents of newborns at Hamad hospital.
\nThe month-long campaign is designed to deliver basic road safety messages such as the importance of following traffic rules, being attentive while driving and the dangers associated with speeding, not wearing seatbelts and using mobile phones while driving, etc. The key message is that road safety is everyone\u2019s responsibility.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
