{"id":35945,"date":"2019-03-17T19:23:23","date_gmt":"2019-03-17T19:23:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/qatar-news.org\/qatarnewsEn\/?p=35945"},"modified":"2019-03-17T19:23:23","modified_gmt":"2019-03-17T19:23:23","slug":"tunisia-seeks-extradition-of-ben-ali-brother-in-law-from-france-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/qatar-news.org\/qatarnewsEn\/?p=35945","title":{"rendered":"Tunisia seeks extradition of Ben Ali brother-in-law from France"},"content":{"rendered":"<div itemprop=\"articleBody\" data-io-article-url=\"http:\/\/www.arabnews.com\/node\/1468016\/middle-east\" readability=\"40\">\n<p>\nTUNIS: Tunisia said Sunday it is seeking the extradition of deposed president Zine El-Abidine Ben Ali\u2019s brother-in-law, who has been arrested in France and is wanted at home for alleged fraud.<br \/>The justice ministry, in a statement received by AFP, said it had learned from the Interpol office in Tunis that Belhassen Trabelsi was arrested on Thursday in France.<br \/>It said he was facing 17 arrest warrants in Tunisia and 43 international warrants.<br \/>There was no official confirmation in France of Trabelsi\u2019s arrest.<br \/>But a source close to the investigation said he had been detained in the south of the country earlier this week in connection with alleged financial wrongdoing.
