{"id":30444,"date":"2019-01-24T17:24:06","date_gmt":"2019-01-24T17:24:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/qatar-news.org\/qatarnewsEn\/?p=30444"},"modified":"2019-01-24T17:24:06","modified_gmt":"2019-01-24T17:24:06","slug":"real-madrid-worlds-richest-football-club-ahead-of-barcelona","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/qatar-news.org\/qatarnewsEn\/?p=30444","title":{"rendered":"Real Madrid: World&#8217;s richest football club ahead of Barcelona"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"body-200771816342556199\" readability=\"101.121384005\">\n<p class=\"speakable\">Real Madrid have displaced Manchester United as the world&#8217;s richest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/topics\/subjects\/football.html\">football<\/a> club after posting record revenues during the 2017-18 season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable\">Bolstered by their third straight Champions League title last season, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/topics\/country\/spain.html\">Spanish<\/a> club Real Madrid generated 750.9 million euros ($852m) of revenue, according to the annual Football Money League report published by professional service company Deloitte on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable\">It&#8217;s their 12th time atop the rankings, which are in their 22nd year, and their first since 2014-15.<\/p>\n<p>Dan Jones, head of the Sports Business Group at Deloitte, said: &#8220;Real Madrid&#8217;s outstanding financial performance in 2017-18 is built on their long history of success on the pitch, most recently three consecutive Champions League titles.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This has enabled the club to continue to drive commercial revenue as the appetite to partner with Europe&#8217;s most successful clubs remains stronger than ever.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The rankings are based on clubs&#8217; match-day revenues, broadcasting money and commercial deals during the 2017-18 season.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\" readability=\"6.46575342466\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">What is most striking about Deloitte Money League is Everton, 17th in the world, Newcastle 19th.
