All rights reserved.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>Since the original archway subsided, the Azure Window has been much missed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Andreev says his proposed redesign has been received favorably in Malta, citing an online poll on a local website.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"Paragraph__component\"><span>&#8220;According to an online poll being conducted by <a href=\"http:\/\/uploads.maltatoday.com.mt\/arts\/architecture\/91634\/dwejra_azure_window_gozo_reimagined_steel_structure_russian#.XDTVf8_7RTY\" target=\"_blank\">Malta Today<\/a>, 68% responded in favor the Heart of Malta Project,&#8221; he says. &#8220;For us, the fact that response is a true sign of the project&#8217;s value.&#8221;<\/span><\/div>\n<p><span>The government had earlier rejected a proposal of a hotel near the site, but has said its open to other suggestions of ways of memorialize the Azure Window.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><\/p>\n<h3>Preserving nature<\/h3>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"CaptionedImage__component\" readability=\"10\">\n<a aria-current=\"false\" href=\"http:\/\/rss.cnn.com\/travel\/article\/malta-azure-window-steel-arch\/index.html?gallery=5\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"CaptionedImage__cta\">\n<div class=\"Image__component CaptionedImage__image Image__hasAspectRatio\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"Image__image\" src=\"https:\/\/dynaimage.cdn.cnn.com\/cnn\/e_blur:500,q_auto:low,w_50,c_fill,g_auto,h_28,ar_16:9\/http%3A%2F%2Fcdn.cnn.com%2Fcnnnext%2Fdam%2Fassets%2F190108132715-06.jpg\" alt=\"06\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The current design is just a proposition.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 Svetozar Andreev, 2018.
