That&#8217;s in addition to 1,500 people who left the company last year. <\/div>\n<div class=\"zn-body__paragraph speakable\">The company, owned by India&#8217;s Tata Motors (<a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/quote\/quote.html?symb=TTM\" target=\"_blank\">TTM<\/a>), has been under pressure in major markets like China, where car sales in 2018 <a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2019\/01\/09\/business\/china-car-sales-decline\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">slumped for the first time in 20 years<\/a>.
