{"id":27160,"date":"2018-12-27T23:22:52","date_gmt":"2018-12-27T23:22:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/qatar-news.org\/qatarnewsEn\/?p=27160"},"modified":"2018-12-27T23:22:52","modified_gmt":"2018-12-27T23:22:52","slug":"palestinian-pm-briefs-arab-youth-delegation-on-life-under-occupation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/qatar-news.org\/qatarnewsEn\/?p=27160","title":{"rendered":"Palestinian PM briefs Arab youth delegation on life under occupation"},"content":{"rendered":"<div itemprop=\"articleBody\" data-io-article-url=\"http:\/\/www.arabnews.com\/node\/1426746\/middle-east\" readability=\"95\">\n<p>\nAMMAN:\u00a0The four-day \u201cTowards Victory for Jerusalem\u201d conference in Ramallah, featuring a delegation of youths from seven Islamic countries, concluded on Thursday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\nThe conference, co-sponsored by the Arab League, was held under the patronage of Jibril Rajoub, head of the Palestinian Football Association and Olympic Committee, and secretary-general of the Fatah Central Committee.<\/p>\n<p>\nParticipants \u2014 who came from Jordan, Oman, Bahrain, Libya, Kuwait, Qatar, and Mauritania \u2014 toured various areas of Palestine, and spent Dec. 25 in Bethlehem. Before the conference\u2019s final session, they were guests of Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah in Ramallah.<\/p>\n<p>\nA government press release said that Hamdallah \u201cgave a review of the political situation and the suffering under occupation and he spoke about efforts toward national reconciliation as well as international efforts to create a mini state in Gaza.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" height=\"230\" src=\"http:\/\/www.arabnews.com\/sites\/default\/files\/userimages\/17\/untitled-1_copy_84.png\" width=\"302\">Hamdallah called on Hamas \u201cto respond positively to the reconciliation initiative of President Mahmoud Abbas so that Palestinians can face these efforts against the Palestinian cause in a united way,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>\nSpeaking about Jerusalem in the opening session, Rajoub said that Palestinians and Arabs are united over Jerusalem.<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cThere is consensus about the Arab context of Jerusalem, which Palestinians \u2014 both Christians and Muslims \u2014 continue to defend,\u201d he said. He went on to praise \u201cthe heroes\u201d who have defended the city over the years, and referred to Jerusalem as \u201ca mosaic of Palestine where Muslims and Christians are living together and fighting for the city\u2019s independence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\nThe delegates also heard speeches from a number of leaders and experts from Jerusalem.
