At a ceremony in the presence of Israel\u2019s president, prime minister and other dignitaries, Yaron says his immediate challenge is \u201cthe normalization of monetary policy.\u201d He says he views the interest rate as \u201cthe main and most effective tool\u201d for directing such policy.<br \/>The University of Pennsylvania business school professor is an Israeli national who has taught banking and finance at the Wharton School since 2009.
