The text also endorsed the results of recent peace talks in Sweden aimed at ending the four-year-long conflict.<br \/>Britain\u2019s UN Ambassador Karen Pierce praised the council\u2019s unanimity \u201con this very important issue that affected so many millions of citizens in Yemen today.\u201d<br \/>\u201cThe most important matter now is that we turn to urgent implementation,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s vital that the parties follow through on their commitments to pave the way for a formal relaunch of (peace) negotiations, and at the same time deliver real improvements on the ground that make a tangible difference to ordinary Yemenis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtecenter\">\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtecenter\">\n<strong>READ MORE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"rtecenter\">\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.arabnews.com\/node\/1424071\">Yemen&#8217;s Houthi militia violates Sweden agreement on ceasefire in Hodeidah &#8211; Arab Coalition<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"rtecenter\">\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>\nThat revised draft resolution was approved for all 15 Security Council members.<br \/>It authorizes UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres \u201cto establish and deploy, for an initial period of 30 days &#8230; an advance team to begin monitoring and to support and facilitate the immediate implementation of the Stockholm agreement.\u201d<br \/>It also endorses the truce agreement, a prisoner exchange agreement, and a \u201cstatement of understanding\u201d aimed at reducing fighting in the central city of Taiz.<br \/>The resolution requests Guterres to submit proposals \u201cas soon as possible before Dec. 31\u201d on how the United Nations will fully support the cease-fire, the redeployment of the rival forces from the Hodeida area and other provisions in the accord.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe agreement also included a planned prisoner swap involving some 15,000 detainees.<\/p>\n<p>\nWelcoming the resolution, Saudi Arabia\u2019s deputy permanent representative at the UN, Dr. Khaled Manzalawi, said the resolution confirmed \u201cthe success of the military pressure by the coalition and the Saudi diplomatic efforts in forcing the Houthis to withdraw from Hodeidah.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\nThe resolution, he said, granted the UN the right to deploy a team to monitor the cease-fire in Hodeidah, which will reduce Houthis\u2019 room for maneuver and prevent their obstructive attempts and repetitive violations in the past.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\" readability=\"5.02352941176\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/SaudiArabia?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#SaudiArabia<\/a> welcomes the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/UK?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#UK<\/a> led <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/UNSC?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#UNSC<\/a> resolution on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Yemen?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Yemen<\/a>.
