{"id":23462,"date":"2018-11-27T15:22:47","date_gmt":"2018-11-27T15:22:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/qatar-news.org\/qatarnewsEn\/?p=23462"},"modified":"2018-11-27T15:22:47","modified_gmt":"2018-11-27T15:22:47","slug":"yemeni-human-rights-minister-urges-un-to-help-uncover-houthi-war-crimes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/qatar-news.org\/qatarnewsEn\/?p=23462","title":{"rendered":"Yemeni human rights minister urges UN to help uncover Houthi war crimes"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"72.9049327354\">\n<p>\nLONDON: British academic Matthew Hedges returned to London on Tuesday a day after the UAE pardoned his life sentence for spying.<br \/>Britain on Monday thanked the UAE after he was among more than 700 prisoners pardoned by UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed for next month\u2019s National Day.<br \/>\u201cAfter almost seven months of detention, including six months in solitary confinement, British PhD researcher Matthew Hedges has returned safely back to London,\u201d his family said in a statement.<br \/>He was welcomed back to Britain by his wife Daniela Tejada and other members of his family.<br \/>\u201cI don\u2019t know where to begin with thanking people for securing my release,\u201d Hedges said in the statement.<br \/>\u201cI have not seen or read much of what has been written over the past few days but Dani tells me the support has been incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\" readability=\"6.076\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Welcome home Matt Hedges! Seeing her and my family after this ordeal is the best thing that could have happened,\u201d Hedges said.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\u201cI thank you all once again.
