{"id":21043,"date":"2018-11-04T10:22:27","date_gmt":"2018-11-04T10:22:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/qatar-news.org\/qatarnewsEn\/?p=21043"},"modified":"2018-11-04T10:22:27","modified_gmt":"2018-11-04T10:22:27","slug":"jordan-king-abdullah-ii-accepts-resignations-over-deadly-floods","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/qatar-news.org\/qatarnewsEn\/?p=21043","title":{"rendered":"Jordan: King Abdullah II accepts resignations over deadly floods"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"body-200771816342556199\" readability=\"88.7264150943\">\n<p class=\"speakable\">Jordan&#8217;s King <span>Abdullah II has accepted the resignations of t<\/span>wo ministers in the aftermath of the deadly floods that struck the country&#8217;s Dead Sea region last month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable\">In a decree, the king accepted the resignations of Tourism Minister Lena Annab and Education Minister Azmi Mahafzeh, according to a statement issued by the Jordanian Royal Court on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable\">On Thursday, Annab announced that she would leave her post via Twitter. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In light of the current political and general climate, and the painful time our beloved country is going through, I have handed in my resignation today as Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, and I will be leaving it to the Prime Minister to do what he deems fit.
