{"id":19370,"date":"2018-10-22T04:22:33","date_gmt":"2018-10-22T04:22:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/qatar-news.org\/qatarnewsEn\/?p=19370"},"modified":"2018-10-22T04:22:33","modified_gmt":"2018-10-22T04:22:33","slug":"exclusive-spot-fixes-in-15-international-cricket-matches","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/qatar-news.org\/qatarnewsEn\/?p=19370","title":{"rendered":"Exclusive: Spot-fixes in 15 international cricket matches"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"body-200771816342556199\" readability=\"157.850808555\">\n<p class=\"speakable\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/investigations\/\">Al Jazeera Investigative Unit<\/a>&#8216;s latest documentary, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=z13N6pGfRMs\" target=\"_blank\">Cricket&#8217;s Match-Fixers: The Munawar Files<\/a>,<\/em> contains recordings of an Indian match-fixer phoning in details of spot-fixes in 15 international matches to a notorious bookmaker.<\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable\">The match-fixer gave a total of 26 predictions, of which all but one turned out to be accurate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2018\/10\/exclusive-top-international-cricketers-involved-spot-fixing-181020115410646.html\">spot-fixes<\/a> were all session fixes, predicting what would happen in a specific session of six, eight or 10 overs.<\/p>\n<p>Many of the matches involved multiple spot-fixes. In some cases, fixes were delivered by both teams.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the gravity of the accusations and the prospect of criminal investigations, we are not, at present, naming the fixed sessions nor the teams perpetrating the fix because that would identify the batsmen suspected of fixing.<\/p>\n<p>The 15 matches in question are:<\/p>\n<p>1.
