{"id":16923,"date":"2018-10-01T01:25:05","date_gmt":"2018-10-01T01:25:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/qatar-news.org\/qatarnewsEn\/?p=16923"},"modified":"2018-10-01T01:25:05","modified_gmt":"2018-10-01T01:25:05","slug":"uae-approves-16-4bn-budget-for-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/qatar-news.org\/qatarnewsEn\/?p=16923","title":{"rendered":"UAE approves $16.4bn budget for 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-io-article-url=\"http:\/\/www.arabnews.com\/node\/1380151\/middle-east\" readability=\"78\">\n<p>ABU DHABI: The UAE on Sunday approved a zero-deficit 60.3 billion dirham ($16.4 billion) budget for 2019, up 17 percent from this year\u2019s budget and the largest in the country\u2019s history.<br \/>\n<br \/>According to the state-run WAM news agency, over 40 percent of next year\u2019s budget will go toward community development, 17 percent toward education and 7 percent to health care.<br \/>\n<br \/>The UAE\u2019s Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum said the cabinet had also approved a 180 billion dirham budget for the next three years.<br \/>\n<br \/>\u201cFifty-nine percent of [the three-year budget] will go toward education and social development,\u201d Sheikh Mohammed, also the ruler of Dubai, tweeted on Sunday.<br \/>\n<br \/>\u201cOur budget is without deficit, and next year\u2019s budget will be the largest in the history of the country.\u201d<br \/>\n<br \/>During the Cabinet meeting, a new federal law was adopted to regulate the space and advanced technology sectors in the UAE. Sheikh Mohammed tweeted, \u201cThe goal is to open up the space sector to investment, research and partnership building.\u201d<br \/>\n<br \/>\u201cIt was a coincidence to adopt a large federal budget with the new law for space sector.
