The company<strong> <\/strong>is also worried about potential restrictions on the flow of people and goods between Britain and other countries, he added. <\/p>\n<p> The move will happen next month, Abadie said<strong>, <\/strong>adding that Panasonic<strong> <\/strong>had<strong> <\/strong>been considering relocating for the past 15 months. The company employs around two dozen<strong> <\/strong>people in the United Kingdom but not all of them will move, he told the newspaper. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"body_img body_img--780\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.cdn.turner.com\/money\/dam\/assets\/180830160600-panasonic-hq-logo-780x439.jpg\" width=\"780\" height=\"439\" alt=\"panasonic HQ logo\" border=\"0\"><figcaption class=\"caption\">Besides making household goods like washing machines, Panasonic is also a key supplier of batteries to electric carmaker Tesla.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p> The Japanese government has previously warned that its companies could <a href=\"https:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2016\/09\/04\/news\/economy\/japan-uk-brexit-warning\/index.html\">move their business elsewhere<\/a> in Europe following Brexit. <span>Toyota<\/span> <span>(<span class=\"inlink_chart\"><a href=\"https:\/\/money.cnn.com\/quote\/quote.html?symb=TM&#038;source=story_quote_link\" class=\"inlink\">TM<\/a><\/span>)<\/span>, <span>Nissan<\/span> <span>(<span class=\"inlink_chart\"><a href=\"https:\/\/money.cnn.com\/quote\/quote.html?symb=NSANF&#038;source=story_quote_link\" class=\"inlink\">NSANF<\/a><\/span>)<\/span> and <span>Honda<\/span> <span>(<span class=\"inlink_chart\"><a href=\"https:\/\/money.cnn.com\/quote\/quote.html?symb=HMC&#038;source=story_quote_link\" class=\"inlink\">HMC<\/a><\/span>)<\/span> are all heavily invested in the United Kingdom. <\/p>\n<p> Britain is due to leave the European Union in March next year. <\/p>\n<p> Many companies based in Britain are making plans to protect their future access to EU markets given the risk that Brexit will result in new barriers to trade in goods and services. <\/p>\n<p> German car manufacturer BMW warned earlier this year that delays at the border <a href=\"https:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2018\/06\/26\/news\/economy\/brexit-uk-car-manufacturing-bmw\/index.html\">could see it close factories<\/a> in the United Kingdom, while Deutsche Bank <a href=\"https:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2018\/07\/30\/investing\/deutsche-bank-frankfurt-brexit\/index.html\">has moved<\/a> key parts of its European business from London to Frankfurt. <\/p>\n<p> In June, aircraft maker <span>Airbus<\/span> <span>(<span class=\"inlink_chart\"><a href=\"https:\/\/money.cnn.com\/quote\/quote.html?symb=EADSF&#038;source=story_quote_link\" class=\"inlink\">EADSF<\/a><\/span>)<\/span> warned that crashing out of the European Union without a deal on trading arrangements would throw its <a href=\"https:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2018\/06\/21\/news\/companies\/airbus-brexit-uk-threat\/index.html\">production into chaos<\/a> and threaten its future in the United Kingdom. <\/p>\n<p> <span class=\"cnnStorySource\"> CNNMoney (Hong Kong) <\/span> <span class=\"cnnDateStamp\">First published August 30, 2018: 6:26 AM ET<\/span> <\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Panasonic is moving its European headquarters from the United Kingdom to the Netherlands ahead of Brexit.
