Dubai – Brussels flight diverted after airport blast

An Emirates flight from Dubai to Brussels has been diverted mid-air to Dusseldorf after a series of explosions rocked the Belgian capital on Tuesday.

A statement from the airline said EK183 was directed to Dusseldorf in Germany, after two blasts at Brussels Zaventem Airport at around 8pm. It had been due to land at 1pm Brussels time.

A statement said: “Emirates flight EK183 from Dubai to Brussels today (22 March) will be diverted to Dusseldorf, due to the closure of Brussels airport.
