Six Qatari artists are showcasing 24 black-and-white photographs at the Qatar pavilion of Expo Milano 2015 as part of the Eid al-Fitr activities held there.
The exhibition is titled Zabra, which means the most precious moment of one’s life. The photographs depict various scenes of bridal preparation for weddings, traditional costumes and gold jewellery.
An interesting aspect is that the pictures, though black and white, highlight the gold jewellery in their original colour and lustre.
Expo Milano 2015 is being hosted in Milan, Italy, until October 31. The theme of the event is “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”.
The Qatar pavilion has held a number of forums as well as celebrations and art exhibitions to mark Eid al-Fitr. The celebrations, with a special focus on Qatar’s heritage and traditions, have attracted a large number of visitors.
